The Client

The Body Shop International Limited is a British ethical beauty brand focusing on cosmetics, skin care and perfumes founded in 1976 in Brighton, England by Anita Roddick. Started with a single shop in Brighton now 40 years later, The Body Shop has 3000 stores in 68 countries. The Body Shop is strongly against animal testing and has campaigned for a cruelty-free beauty industry since 1989.

The Project

In June 2019, The Body Shop had a requirement for the relocation of their main office situated in East Croydon to their new office premises located in Littlehampton. The project consisted of the relocation of 20 staff and effects which included specialist laboratory equipment as well as the items listed below.

The Solution 

Cube Relocations proposed a bespoke specialist packing and transport solution that would ensure a smooth transition of the delicate and fragile equipment and machinery. With years of expertise in the relocation industry and knowledge accumulated throughout the years we were able to gauge the exact requirements required for the items to ensure that the equipment was properly protected, packed, dismantled and reinstalled in the new office premises. We were confident that we would complete the project within the allocated time-frame with minimum downtime. 

The Process

Prior to the move, protective materials were installed by the Cube Relocations team to ensure the protection of the building. Hardboards were laid from the reception and main entrance to vehicle points as well as all main access routes. Lift interiors were protected by use of hardboard and correx and main exit doors were layered with paper covers. The team started with pre-move packing assistance. To ensure the safety of the items when moving Easycrates (plastic crates) were used to pack and transport the items. Cube Relocations prioritised the moving of listed items from existing building to the new premise and positioned them as planned.

Project Highlights

• Working closely with The Body Shop staff to ensure smooth relocation of 20 staff and the removal of effects which included specialist laboratory equipment and machinery.
• Overcoming the complexity of the safe removal of the fume cupboard.
• The safe and smooth transition of the delicate and fragile equipment and machinery from East Croydon to their new premises in Littlehampton.
